RCI Confirm First Now Online
Jun 28, 2010, 07:01 AM by FredinColoradoThere was no big announcement, the new link was added to the WorldMark home page with no fanfare. I hadn't noticed the new link, but Saturday morning one of my regular readers called it to my attention. Thanks Mike.
I checked out the new capability through the link on the left side menu of the WorldMark home page. The first thing I discovered is that you need to be logged in to your WorldMark account to access the RCI pages. No big surprise there.
Once you are logged in you can access the RCI Confirm First search page. The search format is not the same as the one used on the RCI web site. You specify an area and sub area (Florida and Orlando area for example) and the start date to be used for the search. You can specify two different areas and sub areas. Or you can specify specific resorts using the RCI resort numbers found in the RCI directory.
I haven't done much experimenting with the new search function but it does work. It found and displayed available units for the searches I specified. Since I have an RCI Weeks account it only displayed full week exchanges. I don't know if it will search for shorter exchanges if you have an RCI Points account.
I'll know more after using the system more. I suspect that as with any new software, some bugs will crop up. That's to be expected with a new application but hopefully they will be minor issues that do not cause any significant problems. This is a big new addition for WorldMark owners, especially those of us who do use exchanges, and is most welcome.

Woo Hoo!! Glad to see that this feature has been implemented for WM owners. Hopefully, its cousin, Wyndham Vacation Resorts, will have this feature added for RCI exchanges in the near future.

I've been very impressed with some of the resorts that WM RCI generic deposit searches are turning up.
The Manhattan Club,
HVGC Kings Land (2BRs!)
Wyn Oceanside Pier
Grand Pacific Palisades
and many others. What a great benefit for WM owners!

A point of clarification, which should probably be in a post where more will see it rather than in a comment.
When you search RCI through WorldMark, using the new link, you are not searching with a generic deposit. You are searching with the full trading power of WorldMark. If you exchange into a 2 bedroom unit in Red season, 10,000 credits will be deducted from your WorldMark credit balance shown on the RCI site. To complete the exchange RCI will receive a 2 bedroom Red season WorldMark unit.
Space banking no longer deposits a specific week. It deposits credits that show on your RCI credit balance when you go through the WorldMark web site using the new RCI link.

When I say "generic" deposit, I mean that a WM owner has not had to deposit a specific number of credits ahead of time to do a search.
You are right to point out that the full trading power of WM is doing the search. That's the way it always was when a "search first" search was done in the past.
I do have a question about what shows up in a RCI account when a specific number of credits are deposited ahead of time. Does the RCI account just show a generic deposit of points, say 10,000 for a red 2BR or is there a specific 2BR resort week listed that costs 10,000 credits?
If the RCI account lists just a 10,000 credit deposit, the WM owner was and is always getting the full trading power of WM.
