Bluegrass Festival

Jul 21, 2009, 11:28 AM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
How about a weekend in the mountains for some Bluegrass music? In this case it is the White Mountains of Arizona, not the Colorado Mountains that I more commonly talk about. In the Pinetop events calendar on my main web site I spotted the 19th Annual White Mountain Bluegrass Festival. It will be held August 8th and 9th at Pinetop, Arizona.

Pinetop is not Arizona desert; it is at 7,200 feet altitude. The weather forecast for the next ten days shows a high temperature ranging from 75 to 80 degrees. Warm, with cool nights. We've stayed at the WorldMark Pinetop resort several times; it is a very nice area.

If you already have a reservation at WorldMark Pinetop for the weekend the Bluegrass Festival is in town it is something you should look into. Tickets are only $10 per day in advance, or $15 at the gate. If you don't have a reservation there are still a few studio units available and there is always the possibility of cancellations. You can get more details about the festival at the Bluegrass Festival web site.

Steamboat Wild West Air Fest

Aug 24, 2007, 05:26 PM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
The 3rd annual Wild West Air Fest will be held in Steamboat Springs over Labor Day weekend. According to the online information, "it's a Labor Day celebration for the whole family featuring vintage and warbird airplanes, remote controlled aircraft, hang gliders, para-gliders, airplane rides and displays and classic cars at the Steamboat Springs Airport in Steamboat Springs." Also listed is an announcement that "the Steamboat Springs Stockdog Trials are back! If you love dogs you won't want to miss these amazing animals herding sheep in this great competition on Saturday, Sunday and Monday." It's inexpensive too. The tickets are in the form of a button which costs $5 and is good for all events for the entire weekend. If you’re going to be in Steamboat Springs over Labor Day weekend check it out.

If you have been using the event calendars I have posted on my web site you already know about this event. It is listed on the September Steamboat Springs event calendar. So instead of posting a link here, I’ll direct everyone to my web site where the event calendars are located. From the link in the September Steamboat Springs calendar you can find all the details of this event. The link to my web site is on the right side of this page. How’s that for a sneaky way to generate more exposure for my site?

Event Calendars Update

Aug 19, 2007, 11:02 PM by FredinColorado | Category: Events | 5 Comments
The event calendars are a popular feature so I have added them to my main website. I have a complete list for all of the resorts/areas except for Wolf Creek, Utah. There must be some events at Wolf Creek worth knowing about. Perhaps one of my readers from Utah knows of an event calendar for Utah and will forward the link to me?

You can find the Event Calendars by clicking on the Website Home Page link under the My Links heading on the right side of this page (over there --->). Once there click on the Events Calendar button. I think the intro on that page is self explanatory, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. Click on the Contact link here or on the email link on the main site.

A Few More Event Calendars

Here are a few more event calendars, this time in Arizona and the Midwest. Thanks to all who have supplied me several of these and others, I should be putting these on my main web site fairly soon.

More Event Calendars

Jun 29, 2007, 12:13 PM by FredinColorado | Category: Events | 2 Comments
Here are some more event calendars. I included a Lake Tahoe calendar but that may be subject to change due to the fires in the area. I have also established a separate Events category for these so they will be easy to find just by clicking on the Events entry in the Category List on the right side of the page. Clicking that category will list the Events posts in chronological order, from newest to oldest.

I plan to incorporate the event listings into my main website, organized according to the geographic designations WorldMark uses. That will make it easier to find the listing for a particular area. The goal is to allow owners to be able to quickly determine happening dates to coordinate with their visits to WorldMark resorts. If you have more of these links please pass them along for inclusion in the list.

More Event Calendars

Jun 20, 2007, 10:59 AM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
The events calendars I posted for Estes Park and Steamboat Springs proved popular, so here are links to a few more. In all cases there are events listed for multiple months. Some will open to the current month and some will require you to select the month you are interested in. They are listed geographically, from north to south. Enjoy!

Estes Park and Steamboat Springs Events

Jun 11, 2007, 12:11 PM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
That last notice was very short, so here's a calendar of upcoming events that are happening at Estes Park. It will open to the current month (June) and has links for each month of the year. If you have a reservation for the Estes Park resort some of these items are bound to be of interest. Check it out and make your plans accordingly.

If you are going to Steamboat Springs rather than Estes Park, or maybe to both WorldMark Colorado locations, here is a similar calendar for Steamboat Springs events.

Rocky Mountain Brewfest

Jun 08, 2007, 06:14 AM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
This is short notice, but if you are going to be in Estes Park this weekend the Estes Park Brewery is hosting the Rocky Mountain Brewfest this Saturday, June 9. You will be able to try at least 30 different beers from 14 Colorado Breweries.

According to an article in the local newspaper, "Admission is $25, which includes a souvenir pint glass from the event, beer samples, and a food ticket for brats, sandwiches or hotdogs." Designated drivers (be sure to have one if you attend) will be given a discount on admission. You can read a full description of the event in the Estes Park Trail-Gazette newspaper.

Elk Fest

Sep 29, 2006, 10:54 PM by FredinColorado | Category: Events |
From the Estes Park Trail-Gazette Newspaper

"Herds of visitors fill Estes Park in the fall for a glimpse of the majestic bull elk in the Rockies. With a backdrop of glimmering aspen trees and the mountains, elk bugle for their mates during the rut in late September and October.

The Town celebrates the season with Elk Fest in Bond Park, downtown Estes Park, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. All Bond Park activities are free."

If you want to see elk up close, Estes Park is the place to go. This one was standing on the side of the road less than a mile from the Estes Park WorldMark Resort when we were there earlier this month.
